Shedding is one thing … but what about pets that suffer from, you guessed it … male pattern baldness?

Well, not quite. But suggesting they do is a great way to make a point. Apparently, hair loss among pets is as common as baldness among humans. I can relate having once had a darling Torti cat named Paisley who suffered from hair loss. (If only I’d known then what I know now.) Not to worry, though, pet lovers. Word is, pet hair loss can be cured using wild salmon oil, and fortunately Nutrivet makes it available in a handy pump bottle.

As a pet owner, just in case you might have trouble relating to the plight of your balding, furry friends, the campaign cleverly depicts pets suffering what looks a lot like male pattern baldness … and the straightforward but perfect headline, “They don’t like it any more than you do,” really drives home the male pattern baldness connection.

Awesome comb over, right?

Working the concept-development side of things at MarketMatch, I like to share breakthrough creative when I find it: the kind of work that inspires me and hopefully inspires you if you have a hand in creative development at your organizationThese wonderfully executed ads (created by Publicis Bucharest) are clean, visually arresting and best of all they employ humor.  My three favorite qualities in an ad. Additional props to the ad designer for that nice touch where the pump handle creates a visual pause in the “Treat pet hair loss with” line before we get … ta daWild Salmon Oil.

What do you think about using humor to approach a potentially serious issue? When has it worked, or not worked?
