With this MDDC Marketing Trailblazer Award-winning campaign, the objective was to engage current members to refer their friends, family, co-workers, and neighbors to the credit union and utilize this referral-based membership growth as a means to find energized new members.
While many competing financial institutions in our market can retain much larger media budgets, we wanted to rely on word of mouth referrals from our current members. To pull this off on a grand scale, we implemented several technology elements to make the job easier for both our members and our staff.
While referral campaigns are far from a fresh concept, what made ours different in our members’ minds and the people we would be reaching out to was the fact that SkyPoint had recently converted to a community charter for the first time in our 50 year history. This change was still fresh and new to our members, which opened the door to many more referral candidates than in any past referral campaigns.
